Kuala Lumpur… an Open Showcase
Kuala Lumpur… an Open Showcase
If you are interested in making tours to countries of south and east Asia, then Malaysia is the most recommended destination. The Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, has many pleasant things to offer. All amenities and forms of entertainment are available. The city is most notable for its natural diversity, eye-catching scenery, significant tourist sites and rich civilization.
Starting the route in Kuala Lumpur, tourists will pass by Perdana Garden where the National Statue stands, a bronze artwork by Felick De who made the memorial statue in Washington. Set up in 1966, the national statue is 15m high and it celebrates the Malaysian martyrs and soldiers who sacrificed their souls for their country during the communist rebellion movements.
Another significant site is the Kuala Lumpur tower, the highest in Asia and the fourth highest lighthouse in the world. It is 421m high. Tourists can ascend the tower to watch the upper view of the city. Visitors can also explore it through the telescopes available in the show room and have lunch in the circular restaurant annexed to the tower building and lying on top of the tower. The tower is, however, located in the center of the Malaysian capital and is 5 minutes away from Bukit Bintang Street.
For tourists who are fond of flowers, they can visit the flower garden featuring 800 types of Malaysian Orchids, some of which are rare. The flower garden lies in Perdana Garden, directly opposite to the Bird Garden. The flower garden has exquisite fountains, spaces for family gatherings and picturesque scenes. Being too spacious, a visitor needs one hour at least to explore it.
Kuala Lumpur has several museums, including the Museum of Armed Forces that gives tourists the opportunity to review historic exhibits of the Malaysian Armed Forces, such as uniform, military equipment and aircrafts. The museum is located at a very near distance from the Malaysian Ministry of Defence.
There is also the Islamic Art Museum which lies on the way leading to Perdana Garden. This museum accommodates several exhibitions, including the Museum of Islamic Architecture that houses miniatures of some buildings, such as Taj Mahal, Ismail Al Bukhari Mosque and Tomb of Prince Timor. The exhibition also houses a rich variety of antiquities belonging to the Ottoman Era. In the first floor, there is 30 restaurants offering Halal and Arab dishes, with special dining suites for families.
Also in Kuala Lumpur, there is the Textile Museum featuring craftworks, particularly homemade textiles of Malaysian style. It also showcases modern designs with old touches.
The last stop in this route will be back at Perdana Garden, a tranquil site that is blessed with rich and lovely natural scenery. Such garden is one of the most renowned gardens and parks in Kuala Lumpur. It contains tropical forests, scenic water springs and public parks. There is also a theatre for musical and cultural shows.
